Main Responsibilities:

• Identify, solicit and evaluate book proposals for conference proceedings from the Computer Science research community, in China as well as elsewhere.

• Build and maintain relationships with conferences organizers, chairs and with society representatives and work with them throughout the evaluation process of each publication project.

• Discuss contract terms with the organizers or other representatives of the accepted conferences, and determine the suitable choice of proceedings series.

• Pro-actively drive the development of the publishing program in emerging markets as well as in new subject areas. 

• Provide support to colleagues within the Editorial Support Team, on managing the proceedings volumes post-contracting as needed  

• Liaise internally with other editorial functions, including BEST, Marketing and other divisions of the company.

• Engage with the Computer Science community in China and elsewhere, including attending conferences, visiting universities, and developing a social media presence.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or in a related STEM-field.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are an absolute must.

• Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese

• A pro-active attitude and a positive, can-do mentality

• Ability to work well within a team, and to work with people at all levels, both within the company and externally.

• Strong commercial and presentation skills.

• An affinity with the field of Computer Science and with working with academics.

• Availability and willingness to travel to domestic and international conferences several times annually.
